Walkthrough

Section 1: Crash Site

Exit the escape pod. Rescue the three marine groups scattered across the crash site — each group gives you intel. Collect weapons and grenades from supply cases.

Section 2: The First Warthog

Your first vehicle. The Warthog seats three — you can drive (recommended for first-timers) or let a marine drive while you gun. Drive between the three marine rescue points. The chain gun shreds Grunts and Jackals.

Section 3: The Underground Tunnel

Dismount the Warthog at the tunnel entrance. Inside, fight through Covenant squads in tighter corridors. This section introduces Jackals — shoot the gap in their shield or flank them.

Section 4: Light Bridge & Forerunner Structure

Cross the light bridge. Fight the Covenant guarding the structure entrance. The mission ends as you enter the mysterious Forerunner facility.

Key Strategies

  • Warthog Combat: The Warthog's turret is devastating. Let a marine gun while you drive, or gun while a marine drives (AI drivers are... unpredictable). Either way, the Warthog makes outdoor combat dramatically easier.
  • Jackal Introduction: First encounter with Jackals. Their energy shields block frontal attacks — flank them, grenade beside them, or shoot their exposed gun hand.
  • Marine Preservation: Keeping marines alive gives you more firepower. Give them good weapons (Magnums, Plasma Rifles) and they'll help significantly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are all the marine groups?

Three groups are scattered around the crash site plateau — follow the nav points. Each group provides dialogue and additional firepower.

Can I keep the Warthog the whole mission?

No. The underground tunnel section requires dismounting. You'll find a new Warthog later in the mission.

Are there any skulls or collectibles?

The original CE didn't have skulls (introduced in Halo 2). The remake may add collectibles — we'll update this guide when confirmed.
