Walkthrough
Section 1: Awakening
- Follow the technician's instructions for shield and look calibration
- This is the tutorial section — follow prompts to learn basic movement, looking, and interaction
- Cortana will be inserted into your neural interface
Section 2: The Corridors
Your first combat encounters. Grunts attack in small groups of 2-3. Use the Assault Rifle — it's forgiving at close range and the Grunts go down quickly.
Section 3: The Bridge
Meet Captain Keyes. He gives you the Magnum. This is the most important weapon pickup in the game. Keep the Magnum for the rest of the mission.
Section 4: Escape Bay
Elites appear for the first time. Blue Minor Elites have energy shields — use grenades or sustained AR fire to strip shields, then headshot with the Magnum. The escape pod launch concludes the mission.
Difficulty-Specific Tips
- Normal: Straightforward. Follow the prompts and shoot everything.
- Heroic: Elites take more damage. Use grenades proactively.
- Legendary: The first Elite encounter can be rough. Use the Plasma Pistol overcharge combo (overcharge → Magnum headshot). Conserve health — health packs are scarce.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I skip the tutorial?
Yes, the tutorial section (looking at lights, shield test) can be skipped by proceeding directly through the door.
Do I need to kill every enemy?
No, but on higher difficulties, clearing enemies behind you prevents being flanked. It's generally safer to clear as you go.
What loadout should I end the mission with?
AR + Magnum. You'll start Mission 2 with this loadout regardless.
